celebrating the language of the landscape
2010 marks the 200th anniversary of the publication of Sir Walter Scott's poem 'The Lady of the Lake', which transformed popular perspectives on landscape and generated the first great surge of tourist visitors to the Trossachs.
From June to September 2010, Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park are promoting its diverse landscape and culture by celebrating this bi-centenary through a programme of cultural and literary events and activities throughout the Trossachs.
Callander Highland Games

Callander has been holding its traditional two day Highland Games for over 22 years. The event attracts top athletes from all over the world, to test their strength and compete over two days at the traditional heavy events. In addition to the heavy events, enjoy a traditional range of activities including Highland dancing, Pipe Band competitions, tug of war, dog shows, stalls, kiosks and fairground attractions. Something for all the family, young or old.

Trossachs Beer Festival

The Trossachs Beer Festival is a celebration of the quality of Scottish Real Ales. Scottish brewers lead the way in innovation and have created varied and interesting products using heather, seaweed, porridge oats, red berries and malt whisky within their ingredients.
The Festival has a green focus on local ales from across the Central Area, to reduce the beer miles that the casks travel. So why not join us and enjoy beers from Traditional Scottish Ales, Tryst, Harviestoun, William Brothers and our own Lade Inn Real Ales.
